The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has clarified its stance on the rumored revocation of licenses of Fidelity, Wema, Polaris, and Unity Banks. In a statement released by the Acting Director of Corporate Communications, Mrs. Hakama Sidi Ali, the CBN reassured the public that there is no plan to revoke the licenses of these banks.

The rumors, which had been circulating since the revocation of Heritage Bank's license, had caused concern among customers and stakeholders in the banking industry. However, the CBN has debunked these rumors, stating that the banking system remains resilient and that customers' deposits are safe.

The CBN attributed the rumors to unscrupulous individuals aiming to create panic in the system. The statement emphasized that the recent revocation of Heritage Bank's license was an isolated incident and did not indicate a larger problem in the banking industry.

The CBN urged customers to continue their regular banking activities without fear, assuring them that their deposits are safe and that the banking system remains robust.
