NDLEA Arrests Two Passengers with Ingested Illicit Substances at Lagos Airport

Two passengers travelling to Doha on a Qatar Airways flight were arrested by NDLEA operatives at MMIA Lagos after testing positive for ingested illicit substances.

In a significant bust, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested two passengers attempting to board a Qatar Airways flight to Doha at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos. The suspects, Aikhomoun Daniel (alias Oladapo Olanrewaju) and Ayigoro Waheed Omobolaji, were caught with ingested illicit substances on Friday, June 21st.

 Details of the Arrest:

According to a statement by NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi, the suspects were taken into custody after testing positive for drug ingestion at the screening point of Terminal 2. Daniel excreted 90 wraps of cocaine weighing 1.022kg in six excretions, while Ayigoro discharged 60 wraps of cocaine weighing 662grams in five excretions.

 Investigation Reveals Identity Theft:

Further investigation revealed that Aikhomoun Daniel had stolen the identity of his late uncle, who was based in Germany, to obtain a Schengen visa and gain easy access to Europe. His real name is Oladapo Olanrewaju.
